Last weekend saw the debut of GFH Insulation parts on cars seeking qualification for the renowned Indy 500 which takes place on Sunday 29th May.
Heat shielded parts provided by GFH Insulation, a joint venture between Good Fabrications and Indiana-based fabrication company, Howerton Products, ran on Scott Dixon’s Ganassi Racing vehicle which broke the 4-lap record with a blistering 234.06mph. This shattered Scott Brayton’s 1996 record of 233.718, a mark that was said to never be broken back when the Buick Indy turbo V6 had close to 1,000 Horsepower. Ganassi not only captured the pole but garnered the second position by defending NTT INDYCAR champion Alex Palou.
Not only did Ganassi break the 27-year-old record, capture the pole, and grab the 2nd quickest time as well, they managed to secure 4 of their 5 cars in the first two rows on the grid. Their fifth car was 7 time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson who managed to park his car in the outside of row 4 at 12th fastest as a rookie in his first year of driving IndyCars at the 106th running of the "Greatest Spectacle in Racing"....the Indy 500 which garners that moniker because it is not only the largest attended race in the world, but largest attended one day sporting event at over an estimated 400,000 people. This just goes to show you that the fastest cars in the world trust GFH MOTORSPORTS INSULATION for their heat shielding needs, from the brutal conditions of the 24 hours of Daytona to the blazing speeds of the Indy500.
